As our family grew, we moved to a bigger house which presented special snowy weather challenges.

Suddenly, a history-making snowfall began as we all rushed outside to get pictures of the snow “before it melts.” We needn’t have worried. Four or more inches later, there were enough photo opportunities for a dozen People Magazines.

Most of us have fond memories of a favorite pet and the adventures we had with him or her.

While browsing through old newspaper clippings recently, I noticed an interesting quirk from the past.  All the women were identified by their HUSBAND’s names.

Those church suppers marked important events, too. It was at one of those suppers on December 7, 1941, that the word spread: Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor. Mother said many of the land-locked Midwesterners were scratching their heads, asking, “Where is Pearl Harbor?”

I am making only one resolution for 2026:  No resolutions. Why?  Because I never keep them, so why bother?

Duke employs “resource guarding behavior,” which means he becomes protective over items he values. But these aren’t typical dog toys or even small, fluffy teddy bears.
